The Provincial Blood Coordinating Program provides leadership and support through collaboration with the Regional Health Authorities (RHAs) and Canadian Blood Services to ensure blood components and blood products are delivered in a safe and cost effective manner for all recipients within the provincial health care system. The Program mandate includes surveillance, quality and appropriate utilization of blood components and blood products. This is achieved through education, policy development and compliance with Standards for Transfusion Medicine and Health Canada Regulations.
